Norway is a major oil nation. However, we are a responsible oil nation and have understood the challenge of global climate change. We have a responsibility ourselves. At the same time we have a unique position as a world leader in the production of hydroelectric power and as a vanguard nation in the commitment to other renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, tidal and wave power.

After 40 years as an energy nation we have the expertise needed to create tomorrow's energy solutions but we have not yet managed to create the necessary climate to turn good ideas into commercialised successes. Until then the good ideas are meeting many obstacles on the road and unfortunately not getting the help they need at critical junctions.
